At Simply Yoga we’re proud to offer a wide range of yoga styles, from strength building vinyasa flow to flow foundations for the beginner to gentle restorative and candle light yoga. We also offer classes for kids and pre- and post-natal mom's. Whether you are new to yoga or a veteran yogi, our classes welcome students of all levels.
Vinyasa Flow is a continuous sequence of postures or asanas that 'flow' from one to another. Vinyasa Flow synchronizes breath with movement. It builds core power, strengthens and cleanses the body, and offers the opportunity for deep healing and release.
Never practiced Yoga? This class is for you. For beginning and intermediate students our Foundations class teaches the fundamentals of yoga poses, alignment and breathing techniques. Designed for new students or experienced students wishing to gain a greater understanding, this class will teach you how to engage each yoga posture in the safest and most effective manner, in order to receive the optimal benefits.
Gentle Yoga is for beginning and continuing students seeking a class that does not overtax the body or aggravate ongoing physical issues. Postures are practiced slowly with pauses between them and with careful attention to correct alignment. Adaptations, often involving props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters, and chairs, are provided for students as needed, and emphasis is placed on careful and gradual individual development.
In a warm room 80-85 degrees, Heated Flow is a continuous sequence of postures or asanas that 'flow' from one to another. Synchronizing breath with movement. It builds core power, strengthens and cleanses the body, and offers the opportunity for deep healing and release.
Kids and teens
Yoga classes give kids and teens the opportunity to develop focus and concentration, boost self confidence while enhancing their physical flexibility.
Baby Yoga is for pre-crawling babies (roughly from birth through age one). This child-centered class gives caregivers the opportunity to bond with their babies on the mat from their earliest days, connecting through gentle massage and developmentally supportive poses for the babies; and mindfulness, gentle stretching, and relaxation for the adults. Unlike a Mommy & Me style class, the primary focus here is on the babies' bodies, not on postnatal mothers, making this an excellent class for any caregiver, not just mom! Join a wonderful community for socializing babies (and their grown- ups!). Once babies start crawling they tend to want to visit other babies on their mats; this means it’s time for a toddler class.
Unwind and relax with a candlelight restorative practice. Slow down and unwind from the stresses of the day with this physically and mentally grounding practice. Gentle movement and props are used to support and open the body through passive stretching. A restorative practice is a compliment to your flow practice and can help heal the effects of chronic stress.
A blend of supported physical poses and breathing that slows and opens the body through passive stretching. It uses props to support the body as it eases into relaxation and balance.
Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga; however, it directs the stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Suitable for all levels.
